If you're trying to work from home, clutter building around you can knock your morale down a few levels. The time it takes to dig for a pen, look for a file, or find a piece of important paperwork buried under a million other pieces of paperwork adds up. This leaves you feeling stressed and like throwing in the towel for the day. Even if you're not the organized type, you can work towards this type of person. Find someone that helps you get organized in your home office. Give yourself a week to get things organized in a way that won't slow you down or stress you out.
Poor Air Quality
The quality of air in your home can directly impact your productivity levels. Worker productivity is linked to the two pollutants of ozone and fine particulate matter. The particles in the air can lead to irritation, cognitive effects, and even headaches. the main difference between these two pollutants is that the second one can enter your home. You may notice yourself taking more breaks to clear your head or decreased stamina. CO2 gas is also formed in every room as you sit. If you stay in a room with an elevated level of CO2, it can have a negative impact on your mind and body. To combat these issues, you can get a CO2 monitor. This gives you a visual representation of the CO2 levels in your area so you know when you need a break.
Distractions lead us to forget about what's right in front of us. The phone is alerting you. Emails ding as they come in. Noises in the next room leave us wondering what's going on. You don't have to give in to these distractions. The phone can wait. The world won't end when you don't answer your email. The house will still stand if you don't check out every sound. Focus on the task at hand. Distractions can be great when you need a break, but they can be detrimental to your focus if you continue to do everything but your work.

It doesn't help us do things we don't enjoy like working on a spreadsheet. While you're at work, put down the phone and focus on your tasks. You can get your dose of dopamine after you're done with your work. You don't need it to get through the next couple of hours.
You can be productive while at home. Clear your air, breathe a little more and focus on the things you need to get done. Before you know it, you'll be one of the most productive people slashing your to-do list.
